Check the spoken and written tracks
Choose audio and subtitles independently on the viewing service. You may prefer original dialogue with translated text or a dub with same-language captions. The catalog’s original-language field is not a list of all tracks supplied by every offer.
A particular version matters
A sequel, remake or alternative edition may offer different audio. Confirm the title and year first. Repeatedly changing caption settings on the wrong film cannot find the track you expected from another version.
Text for your actual seat
If customisation is supported, choose a size and background you can read from the viewing distance. A bright scene may need more contrast than the player’s dark settings panel suggests. Check comfort before making many adjustments.
Sound cues and visual descriptions
Captions may identify speakers and relevant sounds. Audio description provides spoken information about visual action. These are different aids, so use the full menu label to select what helps you.
When the wording differs
A dub and a subtitle translation may phrase dialogue differently without being out of sync. If text clearly appears too early or late, try another supplied track or reload the episode. Adjust timing only where the player supports it.
If a language is absent
Compare another current offer for the same film or episode. A language mentioned generally by a service may not accompany every title, season or downloadable edition. Confirm the specific item you plan to watch.
